Prenatal & Postnatal Massage

Regular massage for the expecting Mom is highly beneficial, from back pain, stress reduction, swelling, and sense of balance. Use of bolsters allows you the flexibility to lie on your side, your front (with support and space for baby), or reclining. When Mom relaxes, baby relaxes. Extra time is allowed to adjust for your needs, and accommodates changes during this period.

Postnatal Massage is just as important as Prenatal / Pregnancy Massage.  Treatments help the new mother recover from the physical, mental and emotional demands of pregnancy, childbirth and caring for the new member of the family.

Thai Foot Massage

Photo by Kristi Hedberg. Permission: Jill Burynski, Thai Instructor

Traditional Thai Foot Massage is a relaxing yet invigorating treatment of the feet and lower leg. Rejuvenate  and reward your feet starting with a warm aromatherapy towel, gentle rhythmic massaging and stretching of the lower legs and feet, then followed by gently activation of specific acupressure areas with a rosewood tool on the soles of the feet. Leads to an increased feeling of relaxation, balance, and invigoration.

Thai Foot Massage is preformed on a massage table, clothed. Please bring comfortable pants that can be rolled up tp just above your knee, or shorts to your session.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumb and fingers to stimulate more than seven thousand two hundred nerve endings in each foot. These nerve endings correspond to all parts of the body, including organs and glands. Some reflexologists also work with the hands and the ears. Stimulating the appropriate region is intended to eliminate energy blockages thought to produce pain or dis-ease in the related areas.

Kansa Vatki Foot Massage™

Kansa Vatki (KV) Foot Massage™ is an Indian treatment in the Ayuvedic tradition. During this treatment the practitioner massages the foot and lower leg with a 3 metal bowl which helps rebalance the Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The movements are simple and effective, creating a soothing session, which draws out excess heat. Though addressing only the feet and lower leg, it leaves the entire body cool, refreshed, and relaxed.

Energy Balancing Through Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a natural energy healing method. Pronounced RAY-KEY, Reiki is a word made from the Japanese Kanji characters Rei (Spirit) and Ki (Energy), so Reiki means Spiritual Energy, most commonly translated as Universal Life Energy or Universal Life Force.

I am a Third Degree practitioner of  Usui Reiki Method of Natural Healing, begun in 19th century Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui and brought to the United States by Hawaiian Reiki Master Hawayo Takata. Reiki supports healing from within; Reiki is therapy for the whole person.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki is a Japanese word referring to spiritually guided Universal Life Force, representing transformation guided by spiritual wisdom. During a session the practitioner may work with their hands above the client or place their hands very lightly on the client.  The client is fully clothed during treatments and may lie on a massage table.  Clients generally report a feeling of relaxation and peace after a session.

Reiki is a strong tool for stress reduction. Energy cleansing, Reiki seems to wash away tension. You relax, your body can return to normal. A Reiki session can feel like a good night’s sleep, from which you awaken refreshed and rejuvenated.
